QUERY: Seeking information that may help connect Margaret SHOEMAKER (possibly nee HOSHOR or HUSHOUR) to her likely first husband and to her parents. ** A Margaret SHOEMAKER married Cornelius VANLUE Nov. 30, 1824 in Fairfield Co, OH. This was a second marriage for Cornelius, who was widowed, and likely a second marriage for Margaret, meaning Shoemaker is likely her married, not maiden name. ** The family was enumerated in Greenfield Twp., Fairfield, OH in 1830. Cornelius and Margaret eventually separated. Cornelius moved first to Hancock County, OH in the early 1830s, then in the early 1840s relocated to Fulton County, IN. ** Family lore says Cornelius left Margaret the farm and all the children except James Wesley VanLue, who accompanied him to IN. ** I’m trying to connect Margaret to her parents and siblings. Also, I’ve done autosomal DNA testing and have quite a few HOSHOR matches who connect to George HOSHOR and Barbara MATHIAS.
