Clearcreek Township

Clearcreek Township was established in 1805 and at the time included Madison Township of Fairfield County, Perry Township of Hocking County and a part of Saltcreek Township in Pickaway County. Its name was suggested from the "Clear Creek" that runs through it. In legal terms it is known as Township 12 of Range 20 and includes 36 sections. Some of the early settlers of this township were Michael Nye, John Leist, and a man with the last name of Dillsaver. The first church in this township was built by the Lutherans in Dutch Hollow.
