in DAR Patriot's Index, served Rev. War from PA as pvt. but no more data. Nat. Arch. says
have nothing. I can trace line of descent from him to me, but largely undocumented; like
so many they were "poor, owned I have a "lost" relative that very well may have been
naturalized in Fairfield Co. on 7 Oct 1842. His name is Valentine Kastner of Colmar,
France. My only prior info on him is word-of-mouth that he immigrated to Cols., Oh via New
York and ended up in Springfield (Clark Co. ) Ohio. A visit to Clark Co. found zilch as
did a couple hours in Lancaster. I did find the page at Ct.of Common Pleas that had his
name listed as being naturalized. But I could not find anything else to help me prove he
is the Valentine Kastner related to me. I have all sorts of info on his two sons born in
Ohio and burial in Dayton, Oh.but cannot find out anything about Valentine or his supposed
French wife, Marcelle D'Arcy. I'm not an experienced genealogy explorer, but am very
interested in finding out what I can on the Kastner Family. Seeking info on the Samuel H. Smith of Fairfield Co. who bought
