Published in 2003, by The Fairfield County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society. This publication contains 233 pages.

This is an index to the Fairfield County estate packets, will books and partitions records, beginning in 1803 when the first estate was recorded and continuing through 1900. The index indicates what type of record is found in each case packet (estate with a will, an intestate case (no will), guardianship, etc. and in which book the original will or partition was transcribed.

  In the compilation of this index the Probate Court General Index was read and each will book and partition book was examined page by page. Also, many of the individual estate packets were examined when there were questions.

  A thorough introduction is included and researchers are strongly encouraged to read this before consulting the index itself. The introduction explains the probate process, guardianships, partitions, the codes used throughout the index, how and where to get copies, and notes on using the index.

  The names in the index are listed in alphabetical order so no separate index is needed in this publication.
