Regular chapter meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday
of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Fairfield County Genealogical Library,
located at 503 Lenwood Drive in Lancaster, Ohio.


Executive Board meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of each month at
6:30 p.m. in the Genealogical Library.

Visitors are always welcome at any of our meetings.

Jan 17 (CM) - "The Eurouean Air War in WWII" by Mike Pohorilla
Jan 21 - Library resumes regular hours after winter break.
Feb 16 -"Introduction to Genealogy" course, part 1 starts; 2:30pm-4:30pm at the library. You must be registered to attend.
Feb 21 (CM) - "Where in the World Did They Bury Grandpa?" with Liz Baker
Feb 23 -"Introduction to Genealogy" course part 2; 2:30pm-4:30pm at the library.
Mar 1 -"Introduction to Genealogy" course part 3; 2:30pm-4:30pm at the library.
Mar 8 -"Introduction to Genealogy" course part 4; 2:30pm-4:30pm at the library.
Mar 15 -"Introduction to Genealogy" course part 5; 2:30pm-4:30pm at the library.
Mar 20 (CM) – “Fairfield County Ohio Courts and Records; Our Court of Common Pleas Collection" with Hank Cradduck
Mar 20th to 23rd - FCGL CLOSED – Easter weekend
Mar 22 -"Introduction to Genealogy" course part 6 finishes; 2:30pm-4:30pm at the library.
Apr 17-18-19 - OGS Convention, Cincinnati, Ohio
Apr 24 (CM) - Beth Santore, our speaker for this month had to post pone at the last minute and Bill Boone has agreed to speak. Topic: "History of Monuments Through Seven Inventions." Please note the date change due to the OGS convention.
May 9 - Spring Lock-in at the Fairfield County District Library. 6pm to Midnight
May 15 (CM)-"Facts or Hearsay -- Sorting Through Your Ancestry Rumors" with Becky Blair
May 26 - FCGL CLOSED – Memorial Day holiday
June 2nd thru June 7th (Mon - Sat.) - The FCC-OGS Library will be closed for research because of the Yard Sale.
June 5, 6, 7 - Yard Sale at the Genealogy Library: 9am to 4pm each day.
Jun 19 (CM)- "The Softer Side of Sherman" with Frank Bullock
Jul 5 - FCGL CLOSED – 4th of July holiday weekend
Jul 17 (CM) – “Homecoming Picnic & Get Together” at Rising Park. Stay tuned for more details as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of our Chapter.
Aug 21 (CM)- "Estate Inventories and How to Use Them" with Ken Smith -
Sep 1 - Sept 3 (Mon. - Wed.) FCGL CLOSED for Research – Labor Day Holiday and Yard Sale Setup
September 4, 5, 6 (Thu - Sat.) - Yard Sale at the Genealogy Library: 9am to 4pm each day. The Library will be closed for research on Saturday due to the yard sale.
Sep 18 (CM)- Annual Tradition "Treasures from the Attic -- Sharing our past." Bring your favorite family heirloom and talk about it; or listen to others do the same. This year we will feature Mike LeMay who will offer a professional opinion of the "price at auction " of your treasures.
Oct 5 thru 11 - “Meet Me at the Fair” – Visit the Chapter’s booth at the Fairfield County Fair. – The Library will be closed all this week.
Oct 16 (CM) – "Clues Carved in Stone; Gravestone Symbolism in Fairfield County Cemeteries" with Beth Santore
Oct 24 - Fall Lock-in at the Fairfield County District Library. 6pm to Midnight
Nov 20 (CM) – "What You Don't Know About Tombstones" with Bill Boone, Logan Monument Company
Dec 13 “Cookie Walk at FCGL” – – YUM!
Dec 18 (CM) – Holiday Party and Presentation of New Fairfield County Pioneers – Entertainment - "Gus and Molly" by Liz Baker and Marcia Kindig.
Dec 13 2008 through Jan 18 2009 - FCGL CLOSED – Winter Break – Appointments may be scheduled
